About Us

Our story

Oceano studios was started in 2021 after the co-owners, Doug and Chris, decided it was time to make dreams come true. Both of us have been playing music since we were young, and have dreamt of starting our own studio. In Costa Rica we’ve connected with world-famous musicians and some of the most talented players in the industry, all looking for something more than a microphone and a live room; we built Oceano Studios to create something more. This place brings out creativity, collaboration, and innovation like no other; every artist who passes through discovers something new in themselves.

Chris Odell

Co-Owner, producer, sound engineer, multi-instrumentalist

Chris has been making music his entire life; studying piano since age 4 and then moving to drums, guitars, bass, and vocals throughout childhood. Chris has played in more bands than he can count, and recorded on albums in San Fransisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle. He brings a special focus on synths and midi, and loves making those subtle layers of texture that makes music pop.

Chris can sit on keys, drums, guitars, bass, and all sorts of other instruments as your song demands.
